Lit Tip: Drop a Verse

This is called “Drop a Verse.” It includes a very simple strategy to incorporate poetry into your daily routine. Doesn’t have to be lengthy, doesn’t have to rhyme, but it should be loads of fun! Poetry is a great way to encourage language and vocabulary development for little ones. Children can practice descriptive language, word play, sharing emotions, unpacking events, and developing important phonetic 📖 and phonemic👂🏽 skills. Writing a poem or a verse, gives opportunities to get creative about shared experiences and family traditions
