Books to Celebrate Diwali

Diwali is a five-day celebration also called the Festival of Lights is celebrated by many Indian families within our communities as it is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.

As part of our mission, we embrace and celebrate diversity and inclusivity through literacy and thought we would share a short list of books that we can use to learn more about the traditions and significance of Diwali.
